PFS 2021/22 EASTER TERM NEWSLETTER
We thank God for His mercies and protection throughout the Easter Term. Our ability to weather the storms and challenges of the term has indeed been by the help and grace of God. In spite of Covid-19, alongside other attendant issues including security and spiraling inflation in the country, we are glad to report that we have made progress both academically and spiritually. Likewise, we do appreciate you all for keeping faith with us throughout the Term.
This Easter term has been a wonderful term with academic, social, and cultural performances. The programs have impacted positively on the pupils. We pray that our children will continue to improve academically so as to become the best among their contemporaries both within and without our immediate environment.
SCHOOL PROGRAMMES:
COMMUNITY DAY: The Community Day was observed on the 22nd of March 2022. The Area E Police Command Festac Town represented by SP Olanrewaju Oladele gave the lecture. He spoke on SECURITY AWARENESS. He also fielded various questions from the pupils. The children benefited from the talk as they were enlightened on how to be safe and secure in our challenging environment.
PRACTICAL: The Upper Primary Department had practicals in various fields e.g. Popcorn and fruit juice preparation, clay molding, and planting of crops. These activities exposed them to know how to be creative. The Nursery Department carried out fruit day practicals. We appreciate parents for their support in helping the children with items for these practicals.
FRUITY DAYS: The introduction of fruit days has been a success. We want to appreciate our parents for complying with the requirements for Tuesdays and Thursdays when fruits are added to the meal for our children. We implore all parents who are yet to do so to kindly comply as the health benefits are enormous.
COLOUR DAY: Our Colour day was observed on February 14th, 2022. All Pupils and Staff wore red and blue attires. It was a very colorful and exciting day for all participants. Pupils and staff exchanged gifts. The activities of the day were to portray that Pupils should love Christ as Christ Loves us.
CULTURAL DAY: The School also observed her Cultural day on the 7th, of April 2022. Pupils were dressed in different cultural attires. There were also various displays of traditional dishes, cultural songs, and other cultural presentations. Prayers were said in the various indigenous languages. A talk titled “Our Cultural Values “was also delivered. We appreciate the facilitators who came to grace the occasion. To our wonderful parents who took out time to prepare various Nigerian and African delicacies, we say a big Thank You.
PTA: The Parents Teachers Association meeting was held on March 26th, 2022.
Highlights include:
SCHOOL DEBT: The house encouraged parents to pay up all outstanding debts in order for the affected children not to be hindered from writing subsequent exams.
- School Homework Organizer: It was further stressed that parents should always go through their Child’s School Homework Organizer. This is very essential and becomes an additional medium for necessary information.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness: Parents are to keep up with high hygienic standards, ensuring cleanliness at all levels. In the same vein, pupils should be properly dressed in the recommended school uniform and attire for each day.
- Sick Pupils: In as much as the school is working relentlessly to ensure that the pupils are in a conducive learning environment, it was resolved that parents should as well partner with the school as they take proper care of sick pupils; making sure they are well and healthy before coming to school.
- PTA Levy & Account: The PTA account is operational. Parents are to pay a stipulated PTA fee of ₦5000. This falls due to payment on the resumption of every second term.
FIRST SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE: The First School Leaving Certificate Registration ends on 30th April 2021. Parents should please note that any child who does not meet up with both the financial obligations and academic requirements will not be registered by the school. Parents should endeavor to pay up to avoid a late registration penalty.
FEDERAL COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION: This is to bring to your notice that the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for the 2021/2022 Academic Session comes up on 23rd April 2022. Examination Centre: Festac Senior College, 24 Road, Festac Town. Time: 8.00am
POTASFIELD COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION: Potasfield College Entrance Examination holds on 7th May 2022. All Basic VI pupils are to participate. Basic 5 pupils are also encouraged to participate so as to expose them to an external exam. Registration is still in progress and the entrance fee is ₦10, 000.00.
SATURDAY LESSON: The Saturday lesson continues on 15th May 2022. This will enable our pupils to continue adequate preparation for the FSLC.
DAYCARE/CRÈCHE: We wish to inform our parents that the Daycare Department will be open from 8th – 15th April 2022, and re-open on 19th -25th April 2022.
Time: 8:00am – 3:00pm.Interested Parents should contact the office.
TRANSPORTATION: We wish to inform our dear parents whose children and wards use School Bus Services that due to the runaway inflation, the management has reviewed transportation fares slightly upward. Parents and guardians are reminded about the NO PAYMENT, NO TRANSPORTATION POLICY OF THE SCHOOL. For further clarification please contact the office.
GRADUATION: We want to use this medium to notify our parents as regards the End of Session Activities/Graduation Ceremony that normally comes up at the end of Pentecost Term (3rd Term) of each academic calendar.
Please as per our normal tradition for this program, our pupils are to pay as follows:
GRADUATING CLASSES: Nursery II: ₦17, 500.00, Basic VI: ₦22, 500.00 Other Classes ₦6,000.00
Graduands are expected to dress in a black suit, sky blue shirt, and black bow tie for the boys, while the girls are to put on sky blue ball gowns.
FEES: We appreciate our Parents who have diligently endeavored to pay up the fees despite the harsh economic condition. God bless you real good. Please, we wish to inform our parents that due to the prevailing high rate of inflation (18%) officially in the country, the cost of running the school has increased substantially. In order to stay afloat and maintain our services, the school fees have been reviewed upward by 10%. We appeal that you bear with us and we assure you that we do not take your patronage for granted in these trying times. We really count on your goodwill.
The third term fees can be paid into any branch of GT Bank. Attached is a GT Bank Slip.

SCHOOL RESUMPTION: The school resumes on April 25th, 2022 for the Pentecost (Third) Term.
